Where’d I Go?

Posted in DS, News, Website Info on May 24th, 2006

No posts yesterday. I had stuff to do, you know? Actually, I was spending some time yesterday trying to get my video player up and running. It should be working pretty soon, so you can all bask in video goodness. The first video? Elite Beat Agents, the crazy Japanese dance/action game for the DS! Formerly known as Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! in Japan, the game is both wacky and zany. The video shows a man getting fired. Somewhere, in a secret bunker, agents are sent out to right this wrong…by dancing, I guess. It’s very strange. And soon you can see it for yourself. Sit tight.

Face the (ch-ch) Changes

Posted in Website Info on May 18th, 2006

Not exactly exciting news, but I’ve made some changes around the site. You probably won’t notice any of them though, because I’ve basically been cutting stuff that nobody used anyway. I’ve decided to open up my old forums, which, ironically, were much nicer than my new forums. Before they are actually open again I have to make some upgrades and such. Soon they will be back and better than ever—or, more to the point, exactly how they used to be. Stay tuned.

Yarrr! The RSS Be Fixed

Posted in Website Info on May 12th, 2006

A friend of mine pointed out that my RSS feed was busted. It has since been fixed. It was pointing to a non-existant file for some reason. If any of you have any problems, please bring them to my attention.

The page is listed in the sidebar, now and forever.

8-bit Ninja Hits 1,000!

Posted in News, Website Info on May 9th, 2006
Come on party people

Word comes down from the only main desk that 8-bit Ninja has reached the 1,000 hit mark. That’s right 1,000 unique (special and creative) users have visited this establishment since it’s rebirth in April—add my visits to the site and we’re probably closer to 2,000. Thanks for making it happen. Some disappointing news though: my visitor to comment ratio is severely lacking. Including the two spam bots, it’s about 1 in 100 visitors. Ouch. But I don’t care. Your silent approval is all I need. I’ll be keeping track of the goings on at E3, so keep checking for more info.

Oops.

It looks like I left a rogue ad lurking inside my sidebar’s html. This was causing the page to look really weird if you were viewing single posts or leaving comments. It should be gone now and much prettier. And, I got my first spam comment today! I really must have hit the big time. So, hey, thank you and screw you spammer dude :)

Site news and Welcome to New Readers

Don't track mud all over my clean website

Well, it seems I got a large influx of visitors over the weekend, thanks to a referral from Joystiq. Hopefully, some of you will be coming back. If so, then welcome. If not, well, fine. See if I care. Jerks.

In other news, I removed the banner ad from the top of the page. My friend, Thomas, told me that it blocks out the first post when using Firefox. And I was all happy about having valid code, too. I’m sure you were all dying to have one more add to not click on, but it had to go.

That’s all. Again, welcome to my new visitors from around the world. Enjoy the site.

Cone

I’m currently in the process of moving articles off the old site and onto the new one. The first article I moved is the Oblivion feature you see below. So, don’t be surprised if you see a few old articles popping up on the main page.

Forums Blues

Posted in Website Info on April 7th, 2006

I’m realizing that the forums are nearly illegible, so I’m going to see if I can’t fix it. If the forums go down, you’ll know why.

Okay, got the hastily prepared new site up and running. There are forums for everyone as well. I’ll try and get things set up a little better as quickly as possible. Expect to see the site changing often (no more drastic system changes though)
